An absolutely beautiful, stunning model. I can't begin to emphasize how well this is made - each feather, every scale, everything is beautifully detailed. Very true to 1:1 scale. I bought the unpainted version to paint myself.
Limited run model; only 70 being created, per the card SenSen ships in the box. Comes with a golden/brass plaque that has information about Archaeopteryx.
On the model itself:
- Wings are separated, but slot in and fit perfectly. No metal rods. Visible seams that need to be hidden, but that's to be expected. Due to the angle they're at, you will need some sort of glue to keep them in place.
- Lower jaw comes separated, but also slots in and fits perfectly. No metal rod. Barely any visible seam. Will need some sort of glue to keep it in place.
- Head is a separate piece but comes slotted onto the body with a metal rod. Visible seam that needs to be hidden, but that's to be expected. You don't technically need glue for this to stay in place, but I'd highly suggest it of course.
Comes with two stands:
- One tall stump (with plants and frogs at the base) that is a table/desktop stand. Two notches in it that the Archaeopteryx sits perfectly on.
- One shorter mossy branch (with plants) that is a wall-mount stand. Two notches in it that the Archaeopteryx sits perfectly on. Includes mounting hardware/screws.
VERY well packaged. Box came with rigid corners and a full-box custom foam packing insert that had special cutouts for all the parts and bases. Thank you LanaTime Shop for the great experience!
Absolutely beautiful model. The box it came in was massive and protected every part perfectly. The sculpt is very detailed and immaculate.The second stand, which can be mounted to a wall, was a great bonus. I didn't even realize that it was part of the deal.
