I held off buying this model for a year. Looking at the promo photos, I wasn't particularly impressed, especially with the colors and pattern used. But I finally decided to buy it. And now I have to admit, I don't regret it one bit. I really like this figure. Like all things, it looks better in person. The colors and pattern even match; I didn't think I'd like them so quickly. The detail on the figure itself is very good. I like the inclusion of the modest feathering on the back. I also really like the look of the head. Of course, a big plus for including the "lips" is a big plus; many people certainly liked them. The mouth opening mechanism is a bit unusual, but I can see that it was done with the intention of emphasizing the new discoveries regarding the soft tissues that form the "cheek," which don't separate the upper and lower jaws as much. Although I can admit that due to the inclusion of the "lips", the head of this figure looks a bit canine. And the biggest plus is the base. My replica unfortunately had a deformed left leg, but thanks to the base, it can stand comfortably. The only thing I had to tinker with was trimming away excess material in the peg holes in the feet. Overall, this is my fourth Tyrannosaurus figure, and I feel it's a great addition to the collection. I highly recommend it.
