P
PanBrunner
An unusual sauropod from La Amarga Arroyo

Despite the fact that this is an old model released in a new color scheme, it holds up well. Its age is evident, though, in the way this Amargasaurus appears undernourished and lacking in mass (unless PNSO wanted to present us with a diseased individual, which I doubt), which was somewhat depicted in older paleo art pieces. Despite this, there's a lot to praise about this figure. The detail is really good, from the three-pointed nose to the tip of the tail. I see that the safest way to interpret the Amargasaurus's appearance, especially its neck, is as a half-sail. Which doesn't bother me personally, but it would be nice to see other interpretations (of which there aren't many, as there are only three). The colors themselves are also worth praising. I honestly prefer this new, refreshed color scheme; they simply seem better chosen and applied. The only thing I dislike are the orange eyes. I would have preferred them to leave them completely black, like in the prototype. What I also liked about the entire set was the inclusion of a base, which, in my opinion, was flawlessly crafted. It would be nice if PNSO included a base imitating the terrain in which the dinosaur lived; it would also partially justify the price of these museum-issued models. Overall, I like this model and would recommend it to those who don't own the previous version or want to assemble a pair of these unusual animals.
